Has Nike leaked Philippe Coutinho’s move to Barcelona in website gaffe?

Barcelona spent most of last summer trying to prise Philippe Coutinho away from Liverpool, but the Premier League side rebuffed all bids.

But the rumours won’t go away. Will Barca will be back in for the player in January?

Well, our friends at Nike — who sponsor the Brazil international — seem pretty confident he’ll be at the Camp Nou. An advert popped up on their site urging you buy a Barca shirt with his name on it!

The advertisement, on the company’s official website, said Coutinho was “ready to light up Camp Nou” and added: “Get your 2017-2018 FC Barcelona kit with the Magician’s name on it.” It has since been deleted.

In addition to manufacturing Barcelona’s kit, Nike also sponsor Coutinho, who wears Nike-made boots.

Barcelona have denied any knowledge of the advert. Is it a case of 2+2=5?

Liverpool fans be afraid. Be VERY afraid!
